AVN helped me have an amazing experience while I was in Cambodia. Brem and the rest of the staff are incredibly helpful and were there to support me 100%. AVN does considerable research into their partner organizations to make sure both the volunteers and their respective organizations get the most out of the experience. Although AVN is quite new, I would recommend anyone looking for a good volunteer program that is a fraction of the cost of their competitors to check them out. Feel free to request my email through AVN for more insight.
You can do it too, and you absolutely should! Julie, American I volunteered at Joy Daycare through AVN and it was the most amazing experience. You can do it too, and you absolutely should!!
I did a two week volunteer program along with two other friends. We worked with a saving group on micro finance topics. During our time in Cambodia we had enjoyed the support of Brem and his entire team. Also we had the chance to make a lot of new friends and develop our own network.
After arrival AVN gave me an orientation day, where I was getting familiarized with local circumstances, culture and tradition. I had a visit to my NGO where they introduced their main projects. The goal was to help visualizing NGO research reports in video documentaries. I was doing video interviews, teaching filming technique, video editing, and animation. Besides I did a sample script that will be reusable for any future projects. In between I could learn about local problems and journalism as well. I got a very good support from the AVN team during the mobility.- Reka Viktoria
"It was a great experience. I will recommend it to anybody who wants to acquire experience far away from home""- Lauviah Nzondo ( NGO Management internship, Cambodia)
